Materials and what to expect:
A little more about the look and feel of our wood items:
Stained items are made from Baltic birch. Please expect occurrences from nature, including texture. These items will have texture and visible wood grain.
There is no edge banding on our real wood furniture. Please look carefully at our pictures. Utilize the zoom function on your device. We work hard to ensure our pictures are accurate, as well as our descriptions.
The most distinctive feature of Baltic birch is that the edges are attractive, uniform stripes of hardwood veneer, usually alternating light and dark bands.
Baltic birch is a type of wood known for its strength, durability, and attractive appearance. It is often used for furniture and cabinetmaking.
Durability: Dense grain and multi-ply construction, resists warping, and is more stable than other types of plywood.
- Harvested from well-managed forests in the Baltic region of northeastern Europe
- Minimizes environmental impact
- Typically manufactured with non-toxic glues and finishes
Baltic birch plywood can have a variety of natural characteristics such as:
-
Knots: Knots are areas of the plywood where a branch or other piece of wood was growing. Knots can vary in size and shape.
-
Mineral streaks: Mineral streaks are areas of the plywood where the wood has been discolored by minerals in the soil. Mineral streaks can range in color from light brown to dark black, and can be either straight or wavy.
- These are not defects of workmanship but a reminder of the natural beauty of wood.
Clean with a soft, damp cloth, no harsh cleaners, and use coasters for drinks and felt pads for decor to avoid surface damage.
